mi'arrival is the brainchild of Angela Thomas. 20+ years ago, she personally suffered severe physical domestic violence coupled with extreme mental and emotional abuse at the hand of her ex-husband. After finally fleeing the marital home (escaping a life threatening situ), the trauma and fall out that followed left her with numerous challenges to address - with her two small children in tow! mi'arrival is Angela's domestic abuse recovery journey packaged in an empathetic, practical aftercare service that effectively provides support for survivors of domestic abuse on their personal road to recovery. mi’arrival is an empowering aftercare support service for those who have encountered and survived domestic abuse and violence.  

Our aim is to help victims who have already had initial intervention and support from established and/or mainstream agencies.  mi’arrival moves these individuals from these intervening and often temporary steps to a more stable, balanced position that allows them to address self betterment, greater self sufficiency and financial stability.

mi'arrival is informed by the experiences and recovery journeys of domestic abuse survivors, primarily that of Angela Thomas (the Founder) - so the mi'arrival service offering is holistic and relevant!

mi'arrival is currently in its early formation but ultimately the services range from providing safe and secure accommodation - to supporting selfcare, professional development, employment and beyond.  We're here for the journey!

mi’arrival is a non-discriminatory service.  However, we recognise that women and men in their 40s, 50s and above, from black and other minority groups, are under-served with much needed support - especially those who have encountered abuse as a result of religious beliefs and bias (such as Christianity).  So, we bridge this gap with the tailored services we offer.



mi'arrival Ltd is the community action and social programme delivery arm of T.Heritage Consultancy Ltd.

mi'arrival - THE SERVICE

Victims of domestic abuse have to be determined and intentional about 'shaking off' the trauma of their negative experiences and embracing a new life. mi'arrival's holistic service supports this recovery through accommodation, self care, employment skills and new ventures. So whether individuals onboard to one aspect of the service or the whole service offering, the action taken will certainly contribute to domestic abuse victims rebuilding their lives.

COMMUNITY WORK

 In Croydon, South London, the mi'arrival Founder, Angela Thomas, was an integral part of a team of Council volunteers reaching out to domestic abuse survivors temporarily living in sheltered housing in the area. Angela led discussions with the female residents and provided them with practical life advice. Along with the wider volunteer team, residents were also provided with fundamental supplies. 

London Borough of Croydon: Voluntary Work with Survivors of Domestic Abuse

 In October 2023, mi'arrival Ltd participated in a community outreach programme in Forest Hill, Lewisham, South London. The programme delivered support to marginalised sections of the community, in particular low income families. We successfully collaborated and worked with local foodbanks, the Credit Union, and training organisations to address the local cost of living crisis, mental health concerns and employment issues. We were able to make a difference to families in the area. 

Lewisham, South London: Social Action Programme

 In Lewisham, South London, mi'arrival Ltd collaborated with an established digital & technology consultancy to deliver online and classroom project management and administration skills training for young adults, from the ages of 17-25 years old. We followed this up with the development of CVs, job hunting and interview skills. Since then, we're pleased that a number of students have secured new roles.

 After accepting speaking invitations from organisations including faith groups and local government in London and other UK cities, mi'arrival Ltd's Founder, Angela Thomas, attended events, forums and focus groups to speak to and address the challenges domestic abuse victims and survivors face. She is an engaging speaker who captivates her audience with humour and reality!
